We have worked intensely in all areas of the law supporting one of Uruguay´s major forestry operations and wood exports.

We have advised the Visa Group in connection with its global capital restructuring. Counselling Bank of America Corporation in connection with its acquisition of Merrill Lynch & Co Inc;

Successful representation of a worldwide manufacturer on a high-profile distributorship termination case ruled by Uruguayan courts;

Establishment of the regional presence in Latin America of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd, an Indian pharmaceutical conglomerate;

We advised América Móvil, the largest provider of wireless communications services in Latin America, in its successful bid for the acquisition of a 20-year license to operate three broad-band PCS (Personal Communications Service) frequencies and in in the establishment of the local network for its cellular telephone system. 
 
We acted as legal counsel of Mapfre America -- the Spaniard leader in the insurance industry -- in its acquisition from ABN AMRO Bank of 100% stock of Real Uruguaya de Seguros S.A., the oldest private insurance company in the country.
 
We represented Allflex in its successful international public bid for the supply of electronic ear tags for the identification of cattle in Uruguay.
 
We advised Cisco Systems Inc. in the establishment of its legal presence in Uruguay.
 
We assisted Diageo, the world’s leading company in the premium drinks industry (including brands such as Smirnoff, Guinness, Johnnie Walker and White Horse), in the acquisition of “Old Times”, a traditional and solid local brand.
 
We represented TMF Group in the acquisition of Ernst & Young and KMPG outsourcing divisions. 
 
We advised N M Rothschild & Sons Ltd., a British bank, and Bayerische Vereinsbank AG, a German bank, in a project finance for the development and exploitation of Uruguay’s most important gold mine.
 
We represented Tupperware Corporation in the acquisition of the Uruguayan local subsidiary of Sara Lee.
 
We acted as local counsel for Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF), a multilateral credit and development organization comprising most of Latin American countries, in connection with the financing provided by CAF to Corporación Nacional para el Desarrollo (CND or National Corporation for Development) for the Road Megaconcession, an infrastructure concession for the construction, maintenance and operation of 770 miles of highways.
 
We assisted VISA INTERNATIONAL, the international credit card company, in the reorganization of its activities in Uruguay.
 
We represented ED & F Man in a joint venture with CALNU, an Uruguayan sugar producer, for the supply and distribution of sugar in the Uruguayan market.
 
We act as permanent counsel for Man Group in the distribution of its investment funds products in Latin America.
 
We advised AMADEUS, a consortium of European airlines, in the structuring and implementation of its distribution network in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Venezuela.
 
We represented LEXMARK INTERNATIONAL, INC., an American manufacturer of printer products, in a joint venture with PCI Componentes da Amazonia, a Brazilian computer company, for the manufacturing and distribution of printer products.
 
We advised LEXMARK INTERNATIONAL, INC. in the organization of its distribution system in Latin America. 
 
We advised Gaz de France, the largest French gas distribution company, in its successful bid for the distribution of gas in the city of Montevideo.
 
We counseled Método Engenharia S.A., a Brazilian engineering and construction company, in its joint venture with Pintos Risso S.A., an Uruguayan construction firm.
 
We advised N M Rothschild & Sons Ltd., an English bank, and Bayerische Vereinsbank AG, a German bank, in a project finance for the development and exploitation of a gold mine in Uruguay.
 
We assisted Standard Bank London Limited in the restructuring of one of Uruguay’s most important mine projects, which included the granting of a security interest on the assets of the mine.
 
We advised BetzDearborn, Inc., a U.S. water treatment company, on the reorganization of its activities in Uruguay.
 
We advised SONY Corporation, the Japanese electronics company, on the establishment of its local branches, the organization of its activities in the Free Zones of Montevideo, and the restructuring of its distribution network.
 
We represented Credit Commercial de France, the French bank, in the planning and implementation of regional transactions.
 
We have advised Boston Scientific Corporation -- a major U.S. manufacturer of medical products -- in the establishment of its operations in Uruguay, and serve as its permanent counsel.
 
We have represented a group of local private capitals in the formation of a joint venture with General Cinema, a company dedicated to the development and management of cinema-theaters.
